Thougts on dealing with neglected teams & unmanaged teams.

Posted By KenG

Some thoughts on how to help with both neglected and unmanaged teams without contracting or reorgainizing existing leagues.

To help combat unmanaged teams for every owner that a current owner brings in I'd offer two types of incentive plans(based on the owner staying at least 1 full year).

1) The current owner gets an xtra free team for as long as that new owner stays in PB(up to 5 years).

or

2) They get a $35 discount per year for every year that owner stays in the league(up to 5 years).

This way you can get a friend to join a league, you can join that same league at no cost, or you can just take the money. Additionally with incentive (1) two unmanaged teams are removed, while incentive (2) PB still makes $85 additional per year and gets rid of one unmanaged team.

I'd also suggest that we add incentives to help deal with neglected teams.

Take an owners overall winning pct. for all his teams. If its above .540, then give some type of discount or reward to that owner. If its .460 - .540, then nothing changes, if its below .460, then some type of penalty. This would only apply to owners of 4 teams or more. The actual % could be modified.

Incentives could range from a small discount for the following year, free launch leagues, bonus 8th round FA pick while penalties could be a loss of a FA draft pick from all of your teams, increase for the following year in payment, etc.

If something could be agreed on by 80% of the members, then I could present this to Mike.

Thoughts?
