I play the same way...
I do the same as Dave, if I have usage issues and have to use mediocre or INN players at some point during the year, or if I have pitchers with more extreme splits, I generally use them at home where I can control their usage more. So depending on the type of team I have to field, its quite possible I'll have a better team playing on the road, and therefore win more on the road.
Anyway, you can't reward winning and use it as a sign of activeness - if you do, then bad teams will be dropped and no one will want to pick them up. If after 80 games I have one team that is terrible and keeping it means I won't get a bonus of some sort, why would I keep it? And who would pick it up then?
