Well...
While I think it should happen most of the time, I guess my instinct is that it occurs too often.
Some of it may be biased by the game description, which I know is not meant to be overly accurate.
Here are the specific situations that I think happen too often -
Runner on second - single to the OF - runner scores as the throw goes home - batter advances to second. In many ways its the runner going to second that is most annoying and somewhat counter to "good" baseball where the throw should come into the infield to hold the batter at 1B, and go home on the relay. The above sets up the same scenario again - so another single does the same thing. Basically I'm saying that two outs, man on second - two singles shouldn't lead to 2 runs and a man in scoring poition as often as it does. This particular scenario really hurts pitchers with poor clutch ratings I think, and also makes BA allowed more important than OBP or SLG allowed at times.
Related to that is men scoring from first on a double with two outs. It should happen, but not as often as it does in my opinion.
Runner on third - less than two outs - groundball in the infield, man out at first - runner scores. That really isn't that common to score from third on an infield groundout, mainly because only the fastest runners will break for home in that situation. I think too many runners score on that play.
Runners advancing on balls hit to the left side. This is where the description may be misleading, but even on a hit and run its tough for a man to go from first to third on a single to LF, and its tough for a man to go from second to third on a groundball out to SS, as the play is infront of the defender and the throw to thris is close. But it seems to me to be just as likely to occur in this game as when the ball is (supposedly) hit to the right side.
(I also am not sure the game actually differentiates from a double or ground rule double, as men certainly score from 1st on ground rule doubles).
Pick-off plays. I don't think a runner should ever be picked off unless a steal, hit and run, or bunt/squeeze was called for by the offense.
Like most of complaints/comments about the accuracy of the sim, my feeling is that these aren't major changes, but simply modifications of the thresholds that certain things happen at, maybe increase the weight given to certain things more.
