Back To Board

NEVER trust the robot

Posted By Bob C

Fred, I agree with the unsigned post. I think one of the most important managerial moves the a manager can make is to create an away roster that the robot can't misuse. (Example: I NEVER have a mop up pitcher on the away roster therefore the robot can't use him in a key situation. I learned this lesson the hard way several years ago after the robot brought in a mop up pitcher to pitch the 9th inning with a ten run lead. He gave up 11 runs and lost the game while the robot left my fully rested closer on the bench!)I always assume the robot will screw up so I set my roster, lineups, rotation, etc in such a way as to minimize the robot's options. This takes some effort but if your are competative (as I believe your are) then I suggest it is well worth the time.
