In general, a player should perform according to his stats...regular season or playoffs.

The fly in the ointment, however, is the limited sample. With a 4-7 game playoff series, anyone can go 0-20, or 10-20. So I usually use my players in the post-season exactly as used in the regular season (platoons etc.).
