State of PB--please post comments below

Posted By MBravard

PB has gone through some very difficult years since the demise of Telescan in 2001,but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
We desperately need new managers, better and more complete customer service, manager and league rankings, historical stats, new leagues, better forums and other means to improving the online environment and host game play.

As of last month we have started paying for fulltime professional technical help, which will accomplish the following by the third week in January:

1. A new website and entry point for prospective managers.
2. A new framework for our entire online interface that will allow modular improvements to the interface.
3. The underpinnings of a new environment in which to attract new managers.

Our next rounds of development would be prioritized as follows:

1. Automate all league functions and make it possible for customer service people to run the leagues rather than relying on development personnel.
2. Study and implement ways to make game setup home and away quicker and easier.
3. Increase the level and quality of communication between managers..
4. Study and implement move to host game! This would eliminate crashes (they could be restarted as they would be resident on the host) and make 2-man play available in the future in selected leagues and playoff games (when both managers wish to and are able to play live games).
5. Open up the game itself to comprehensive retooling.

Marketing PB will depend on the effective implementation of these improvements, but we can make some inroads this spring simply with a new website and #1 of the other development initiatives.

I apologize to all PB managers and fans for our uneven performance in the past. I still believe in the game and in the fact that this is a great hobby!

Please comment on PB and our proposed course under its posting on the discussion board.
