First the bad news (as also related in TRAD post):

TRAD WS on hold. TECH will be working on pressing and long standing server problems FRI evening. We hope that the TRAD WS fix can then be done by SUNDAY night and a schedule for the games can be posted at that time. But there is no guarantee that this will happen as planned.

Now the good news:

One forum comment below stresses that the commish should MAKE SURE the playoffs run on time.

The "human error" that caused the playoffs to be halted was caused by inattention while running the playoffs. The technician made a mistake and now has to unwind the program and reset it to the time before the error. Meanwhile that technician is unpaid and has full time responsabilities outside PB.

PB is actually on the verge of really improving and of this I am sure. But exactly when the TRAD playoffs will be played is not in MY control.

The futre if it is to be enjoyable and rewarding for all of us will involve an automated system that will prevent these mishaps. But that is only the beginning. PB although it is a satisfying experience, has many missing parts that need to be added and refined. The work that is being done right now and that we cannot see will allow us to improve the interface to a great degree. I am more pumped about the future than I have been since 2001 when we reclaimed PB from the corporate scrap heap!
