Perception
Frank,
You often speak my exact thoughts in your posts. I respect your understanding and compassion.
The current PB situation reminds me of a discussion I had with my daughter when she was a young teen having a "young teen" problem. I sat her down to provide her with my infinite wisdom since I thought that I fully comprehended the issue with my, non-admitted, limited knowledge of the complexity of the interpersonal issue. I gave her the "greatest" father/daughter speech of all time. While basking in my glory of this parental triumph, I decided it was time to take my leave. My daughter left me with this touching comment: "Dad, you just don't get it?".
While we all have our thoughts about solutions to PB problems, we do not have full knowledge of the complexities of the problems and time constraints. My daughter's comment to me has stayed with me these many years and has served me well. None of us has walked in Mike's, nor John's, moccasins. Therefore, we cannot totally appreciate their frustrations and issues.
I wouldn't have traded my daughter for any other person on earth, even though I didn't agree with her lack of communication, but she was still the greatest daughter on earth. That's the way I feel about PB. In the early days Mike took me under his wing and helped me through my woeful lack of computer knowledge. He loves the world of PB and I know his heart is in the right place. PB is still the greatest and I will continue to root for its continued success.
I am an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and I died a hundred deaths when they lost to Michigan State 85-55 last Saturday, but I was at Carver-Hawkeye arena last night to heartily cheer them on to a 73-60 victory over Indiana. When things like they have pitted out sometimes they have a way of soaring back to the top. Just keep the faith!
I apologize for the length of this post. I guess the bottom line message is "Don't throw your daughter out of the house just because you can't communicate and don't always see eye-to-eye!"
