Bye
Stephen,
Tell the truth. I'm guessing that the only reason you are quitting now is because you are finally realizing that the team you drafted can not compete in a 160 game schedule. You need plenty of starting pitching to win championship, and my friend, you have none. Your team is slipping ever so quickly from a division leader, to a wild card contender....and eventually you'll be out of that running. Not to mention that your team was drafted to "compete" for this year only. I hate to think about your team next year, I mean, Big Mac can't play all 8 positions for you. Maybe you are quitting after losing every series for the past month to teams not named "Intesity". As you said yourself, you don't know the rules of the game. I think that was completely obvious when we started discussing your catcher, Reed, and his platoon status. As for the friends that I have made in this league, our knowing each other has NOTHING do to with the trades that have gone on (at least in my case). You can ask anyone that knows me about how competitive I am. Other than Joey and Sean, none of us had previous contact or knowledge of each other until joining some ESPN fantasy leagues a few years back. After that first league, a core group of us have done almost every fantasy league imaginable. I find it much more desirable to play this type of game with people I know, and communicate with on a daily or even weekly basis, rather than people that signup, never chat, never discuss trades, and are inactive for the most part. For me, part of the fun of winning is the gloating to my friends....but you can't really gloat to a computer manager or someone that never talks to you. The point is, I don't care if you quit, just don't sit there and point fingers at people when you haven't even attempted to try and enter the trading game. Personally, I've made 3 trades, and 2 of them were with owners that I didn't know until joining this league. The other was with Sean, and I didn't really know him as well as I do now after joining this league. Why? Because we communicate frequently and discuss trading weekly. I've made several requests about your catcher, Fletcher, but you felt that my opening offers were unfair. That's fine, but you should send a counter offer...which was never done. If you want to quit with your tail between you legs, that's just fine. Before you don't, why not trade me Fletcher...the new owner of your team with thank you for it.
