It never ceases to amaze me how much people "overvalue" rookie picks. There is a possibility this rookie pick could be #8 overall. If you need pitching and are a contender, the players are attractive. If you are building, you might like to roll the dice on a top 5 pick. But either way, without knowing the circumstances, to me it is far from an "idiot" offer either way.
