Count me as Pro-Unmanaged Trades
While there are times I don't agree with the decision you make on a particular trade, I favor the Unmanaged Trades. I have made a number of good unmanaged trades--good from the standpoint that they helped my team and also helped the UNM team.
I have a lot of teams, and perhaps that gives me more exposure to what it takes to make an UNM team that will result in a deal. Mike, when you accept or reject unmanaged trades, you have reasonable criteria, and have been relatively consistent. After having a number rejected and a number accepted, I think I have a good feel for what to offer if I want to make a trade happen with an UNM team. In that sense, trading with an unmanaged team is no different than trading with an owned team.
There are some owners I have trouble dealing with. I don't like the way some owners let an offer float, perhaps using it as a bargaining chip in other deals. I don't like the way some owners make the team offering do all the work by giving no clues as to what they are looking for. Still, any owner gets to know the proclivities of the guys who are active traders in the leagues they are in, and any owner should be able to figure out, with a little work, what it takes to make an UNM trade happen.
We are much better off having UNM trades than before we had them, because it helps keep the "dormant" teams in a league from locking up particular players to their detriment and that of the rest of the league.
