RE: UNM trade system--weigh in here!

Posted By KenL

I have no problem with the system the way it is. That said, I have never had a trade accepted for a UNM team. I'm sure it is because I don't want to give up too much to get the UNM player. I have concluded that I will not even attempt to trade with a UNM team. There are enough managers out there that trade and with the drafts I can get what I want that way.

I do like that Mike will make counter proposals. Prior to this he stated that he would not. In my case that might be good because I am totally baffled on how to get a UNM trade through. In my trade proposals I do try to see what the UNM team needs and have even included high rookie picks (1st round), but to no avail.

The only real beef that I have is that Mike alloowed me as a very green rookie manager to make an abysmal trade with one of the UNM teams. The deal was Jarrod Washburn and Jason Jennings for Ross Gload and Jaime Cerda. I would have liked if he would have sent back a "Do you really want to do that" response, but he took the deal with out any guilt. LIVE AND LEARN!!!

So, keep it like it is, make counter proposals, keep up the UNM trades with other UNM teams.

By the way, I took over a team last year that was UNM and built it up fairly quickly with all of the high picks that were available (got Kazmir, Kotchman and Howard). So, it does work for the manager picking up the UNM team.

Thanks,

KenL
