Patrick....
Patrick,
Almost had to use my name for this one but............ If you consider the way PB currently works, one event is tied closely to the other. I believe that rookie draft list and order can not be input until the season is "turned over". That means all stats and standings, etc. for last season disappear and everthong is set at zero and a new schedule of events is listed. I don't believe this can be done minus one laegue.
Your suggestion that the WS not be played in B14 is an interesting one but I don't know if that's even possible given the intricate nature of the PB program. It has validity what with one of the teams being un-managed. It doesn't fit the "purebaseball" mentality though.
Just to give you an example of how everything relative to next season (except trades) comes to a schreeching halt is the FA pool. Go to one of your leagues, drafts, and click on FA and ask for a list. You get a rather long list but the individuals must be those left over from 2005 - they are not the free agents (for the most part) that will be available once the list is published. I beleive some have looked at this list and thought they were looking at a partial free agent pool for 2006.
The bottom line is that we don't know why B14 is such a problem and what the ramifications are to the rest of the leagues. If the solution is as simple as cancelling the WS then I think MB will probably do that early enough in March so that the season doesn't get hoplessly delayed or we are forced to imput fraft list in 24-48 hours. In the meantime I believe he will keep trying a fix.
