More rehash...UNM
More rehash needed I guess:
I am not a technician. I designed the game and did the math but am not a programmer. So the notion that I am wasting time doing UNM trades and trying to improve the state of available teams for new managers is misguided.
It may be that we never get new managers but that will be because we fail to solve our technical problems. I will not commit marketing funds to a system that is not techically sustainable.
When I asked for comments and suggestions about the UNM trades I assumed I was dealing with my friends.
Some of the suggestions are good ones but we are not able to add them at this time.
Others are just not very good.
The purpose of any discussion such as this is to give me an idea of what the majority wants and appreciates, not the what the very vocal minority desires.
I am doing the best I can to communicate with the membership but feel like some of you are never going to be happy no matter what we do.
I guess I have done the mea culpa dance for too many years and am getting weary of it. No matter waht happens behind the scenes I have always taken the blame. It is part of the job.
But maybe not having taken a salary for this job since 2001 tends to make one a little less tolerant of criticism---no matter how justified.
If the vocal minority would like us to close up shop until everything is to their liking, then maybe they should disucss the idea with the silent majority. Or maybe I am wrong about which side is in the majority?
I am very close to ditching my remaining teams in D5, M6 and 2000 RT2. If I do that I do not know if the commish gig is going to be enough to sustain me in the SIM world.
Perhaps a fresh start next season or in 2008 might be best for all concerned?
The Rookie draft started 3/9 last year and it coudl not possibly start before 3/21 this season no matter what happens with B14.
Whatever happens thanks to all of you for playing the game. It has been a blast!
Better even than staying ahead of a blizzard and delivering on time!
