I believe in PB
I have never left a post on PB before, but felt it was time to voice my opinion.
I started with PB about 6 years ago. I began with a few Launch League teams and eventually got 2 full time teams. I had to leave PB for a short time when my personal life got too hectic and I was not devoting the time to keep up with my teams which I felt was not fair to PB or my fellow owners. Mike tried to convince me to stay on, but at that point in my life I needed to take care of other issues. I joined PB again about a year ago.
I am certainly not as experienced or as knowledgeable in the technical aspects of PB as the rest of you. Until recently, I did not understand what caused the delay nor did I care. I'm just waiting to be told when to set my draft order. Until this past year I did not know much about Mike or his job as a truck driver. I thought he just sat at a computer all day working on PB issues. I am shocked to learn that he has a full time job that takes him on the road for several days at a time and yet he still has time to take care of PB. I have tremendous respect for that.
I don't know any of you personally, but I have a lot of respect for your commitment and dedication to PB. I have had the pleasure of competing against several of you recently in 2000 Trad 2 and in the past in 99 Trad 1. I see some of your name such as Anthony, Joey, Jonathon, Tim Alt, Tim Shine, or Patrick and I am happy just to be able to compete against you. For the little I know of PB, you are the top guys. I have so much respect for how you compete and manage your teams. I know there are several others in PB who are the same, I just haven't had the opportunity to meet you.
So why am I writing all this? For one reason: to let you know what PB has done for me. I don't need to be involved in making suggestions about how to make the game better. I'll leave that for Mike and the "top guys" to decide. I'm just happy to play by whatever rules you establish. I love baseball, I love the competition, and I have enjoyed wheeling and dealing with you the past 6 or 7 years. I look forward to logging on to PB everyday when I get home from work and I hope everything gets straightened out so that we can continue to enjoy our hobby.
One last note regarding the discussion on UNM trades. I have made several UNM trades and can say that I have never seen an unfair trade go through. I always try to make a "fair" offer. Some trades Mike felt were fair and accepted right away. Many others he rejected, but he always took the time to write an email explaining his thoughts. I also believe he always has both teams interests in mind when approving trades. For what it is worth, I would be very disappointed to see UNM trades go away.
Thank you for letting me share my thoughts. Sorry for being long winded. I will go back to just reading posts and letting you guys take care of our hobby.
