I put a message on the bulletin board and I approached owners individually.

The only person I could get interested in paying close to something reasonable (and I still had to give up too much) was to do an unmanaged trade. I finally had to send Jose Reyes, Rodrigo Lopez, Matt Morris, and a RK #3 to an unmanaged team for Scott Rolen.

The second best offer I got was a FA#1 but that was only after the other offer was in motion.
