I show the cap at 112(20 team league), where is 109 coming from? Seems some people think that the cap is 120% of average, when in fact it is 125%.
The average league varied from 89-90, giving us a cap of 112. In most leagues this is only affecting 1 team.
Additionally the biggest change came with the Expos, who went from an mostly neutral stadium to a pitchers stadium. Thus expect values for Montreal hitter to improve while values of their pitchers go down slightly, maybe an 7-9% swing. So if you have two Expos hitter with a total of 10 PB, expect that to move to approx. 10.8. A quick glance shows the other stadiums giving you a 2-4% swing.
Lastly, this exact thing happened last year. Players like Santana went up in their ratings while Greinke went down(the game must have known something). A couple owners were hurt by this(Mike being one of them), while I imagine it probably helped a couple guys.
For real life comparisons the recent NFL agreement bumped up the cap at the last moment, while the NBA cap is always done at the last moment. Don't know how Hockeys new cap actually works.
You guys should try playing in a salary league with a 60 million cap, drafts and FA. I lost Abreu and Schmidt to FA due to my cap problems and the high bids they went for and had to overpay to keep Jeter. No one even close gets lost here.
