I too would like to see some of these types of formulas posted. Often when this type of question is asked Mike will refer us to the MANUAL. However I have been playing since about June of 1998 and it seems like the MANUAL has not been updated much (if at all) and based on my experience it seems like some of the formulas in place now do not always agree with what the MANUAL says. Perhaps a MANUAL update would be appropriate. A little more detailed plain english explanation of how the ROBOT decides how to use the bullpen and pinch hitters could also be a useful addition to the MANUAL
