There are no excuses for Bonds or all of baseball really. He was an incredible all-around player but his jealousy/ego per what McGwire drove him to cheat. And clearly baseball deserves a great deal of blame.

It is impossible to undo the past but I have no respect for him and would strike his home run records and have some sort of penalty regarding the Hall of Fame.

I'm no Rose fan but at least his achievements were legitimate. Roger Maris should once again viewed as the single season home run record holder.
