Response to Gary
Gary,
I went to grad school at ASU while Bonds played there and he has been a favorite (along with Oddibe McDowell) ever since. I am disappointed at what has transpired although I must confess that OJ Simpson was my favorite in football. I was curious to know if you saw "Bonds on Bonds" on TV and what you thought.
My take on Bonds is that he emotionally immature, desperately wanted the approval of his father, the fans, the media, etc. and has no clue how to make that happen. He almost certainly cheated and that is a shame because he was a hall of fame player already without them. He endangered his health, brought pressure on himself, created emotion termoil for his family, risked going to jail for purgery, and hurt his chances for the hall of fame. Why? So he could hit 755 HR and be the best ever instead of hitting 600 HR and being one of the ten best ever?
