I was in full support of the change. League parity makes for the best competition and the only way to achieve this is to give weak teams a break. There is no way a winning team should have equal chance at the top FA's.
Realtime can be brutal to a roster. The inconsistency of pitching added with a few injuries can devistate a team's PB value. Obtaining a decent prospect in the FA draft is at least an incentive to keep the team.
"Rewarding" a winning team for good management is backwards thinking. The rich get richer and the weak get dumped to the available list. And nobody wants to pick up a loser team when there is no hope of improving.
For those winning teams that don't like the rule change....consider it a challenge. If you can maintain a winner then you truly are a good manager. Don't take the charity away from those who need it.
The FA draft is finally working the way it should.
