All philosophies were meant to be broken. Or at least I end up breaking them all the time.

In roto you can win with an average pitching staff, in PB you need 2-3 starters that can win on their own.

Finding a #1 or #2 guy that is good every year is very difficult, and finding a good youngster that is going to become one of these pitchers is even more difficult, thus the high price for pitching.

I've traded Zambrano for Victor Martinez, Pedro for Figgins and Bonderman, etc. I've also given up 2-3 good players to get a pitcher.

Bottom line is make trades that help you for the next 5 years and you should do ok, but don't be afraid to make a trade that adds the final piece to the puzzle; just make sure that you are only one piece away.
