TRAD is easier to build in than RT

I do not agree with your premise (obviously).

In TRAD if you want to rebuild you pick for future stars in the rookie and FA drafts while the contending teams are going for guys who had good years but may not have long term potential.

In RT both good and bad teams ignore the guys who had unusually good seasons because those stats don't get used - both are looking for what will happen this year and next. In TRAD the career year guy you know about for sure so those guys get grabbed early leaving the prospects for the rebuilding teams who don't care about the guy who had a year he'll never repeat.

Also the rookie draft is much more valuable in TRAD because rookies haven't been taken in the monthly FA rounds as they have in RT. And the rookie draft is one place where poorer teams get a significant advantage.

In RT if you have the worst record in the league you can as you say get some very good players in the monthly FA drafts, but realistically only 1-3 players per draft are usually OBVIOUS talent and often only 1 guy. So you need to be one of the very worst teams. In addition, you only get 1 of those guys per monthly draft - yes you can draft 5 rounds each month but the talent drops off pretty quickly and with serpentine order the poor teams have no advantage over the good teams after round 1 - in fact they are at a disadvantage after round 1.

You don't get 25 good guys and are lucky if you get 2-3. If you grab 2-3 star players in the FA drafts and are still drafting in the top 3 spots in the 4th and 5th FA draft - you are probably tanking.

I've taken over last place franchises in both RT and TRAD and to me, it seems easier to rebuild in TRAD.

That said, I prefer RT because I love the drafts and trying to find the future gems and in RT you have 5 more drafts per year.
