Not very tactful. Here is where you went wrong.

Not very tactful. Here is where you went wrong(IMHO) and how you can do a better job next time.

1) A manager has the option of playing or not playing their games. Its the reason we have a robot manager that can be set to play the games at a certain time. Currently its not operational. Your first post should have asked about this, then sent a response to the commish and to tech if it turns out its not working.

I am pretty sure it’s not working and was not when the post was generated. This was not a post to embarrass anyone and probably should not have singled out Mike Douglas – wrong there.

2) If an owner wants to play all his games early Tuesday morning, its his choice. Its in the rules. Hope you aren't a teacher or someones boss, give a due date, then call them out before your deadline. They have from Thursday afternoon to early Tuesday mornings. Its been that way for a decade.

Yes and it’s caused problems for many of us and many managers have complained. The issue is to get as many as possible to play as early as possible. How many teams do you have? If you have more than say five, you’ll find it a problem if all five are away and you need to send lineups and they all finish on Tuesday – unless, of course, you have unlimited time to spend in front of a computer. And if you do, I say all the more power to you but you will be an exception.

3) Signing your name. Here is why I like people to sign their names. I know that they aren't stirring up trouble for trouble's sake, they actually believe what they are posting and whether we agree or not, its still your belief and thats important.

If it’s not obvious that I believe what I write here in my heart, then my name would be of no consequence anyway. This kind of post doesn’t require an author as it’s an attempt to make the game better – in this one person’s opinion.

4) If you want, email me personally and discuss the issue with me. I may agree or disagree, but I won't reveal you name to others. Maybe through discussion we both might learn something.

What’s the point here? Ken, I love you but you are not the eyes, ears, and conscience of purebaseball.

Lastly, things happen. Usually I can't play Thursday and Friday. I might have plans on the weekend, but plan on playing Monday. Work calls, my daughter needs something, I don't feel well, something comes up, etc.; which means I end up not playing any of my games. It happens, and guarentee it will happpen to me.

That’s quite understandable and I mentioned Bravard as an example of someone who might have a difficulty getting games played by Sunday evening. All of us from time to time will have this problem. Therefore the email suggestion so you don’t have to log on several times a day to see if games were played.

IMHO go back and start with #1 above. It cures most of the problems that you have.

Ken, what you are missing here and what some others are missing here is that this is a problem. I believe it would go away if the robot manager option programmed into the game last year, I believe, were fixed. This is probably another duty for John Meredith – but he may not have the time. I suspect that managers who can’t play their games would program the robot to play them fairly early in the “baseball” week. Mike mentioned several months ago when all the grousing was going on that we would see improvements soon and I suspect the playing of games by un-managed teams is one of those very improvements. If I am right, why is this considered to be an improvement? Tell me honestly that you have never been rushed to send away lineups for teams that finish playing games on Tuesdays – honestly. Wouldn’t you prefer to have had the ability to do that on your own terms (schedule).
