I buy the current season disk each year with DMB so I can reproduce my League(s)in PB. This helps me with trade prospects and determining Home Park(s) that are beneficial to my PB teams. I then simulate about 100 games multiple times (at least 5 times)in DMB using the PB League(s). Almost without exception the playoff teams are identical each time and again most of the time these same teams become the playoff teams in PB. I would guess we should expect similar summary results since both systems (DMB and PB) use the players actual stats.
