Crazy Trades
Unfortunately I think that some people are trying to take advantage of what they presume to be less knowledgable managers.
The other thing that managers do, (And I'm Guilty as well) is go to all the teams that aren't doing well, and try to upgrade talent.
I had the bad habbit of trading this year for next, I still do it, but when you do that this early in the season, it could come back to bite you it the behind.
I'm currently trying to get a #2 or #3 Starter for Padilla & Thomson, and although it might help me win in '06, if Padilla wins 18, and Thomson wins 14, and whoever I might get wins 8 - 12, I made a bad move.
I also like to pick up Mets when they are available (Wright, P. Martinez) I've tried to trade Damon for Beltran, and Helton for Delgado, and even I. Rodriguez for LoDuca in a Package deal. The problem is that when you make moves like these, with your heart instead of your head, you wind up hurting your chances to win.
Although it's Football, remember the NO Saints trading ALL there Picks for Ricky Williams? Look how that turned out.
Sometimes there are people that look for a quick fix, and try to pray on the less informed. I wouldn't get mad, Just be careful.
