I just had a team start Kerry Ligtenberg and Valerio De Los Santos against me in the playoffs , neither of whom had a start in the '98 season. This team had rested starters waiting but chose instead to try and get more highly rated pitchers in there for more innings. The manual says that you can do it but that the reliever will degrade quickly and that it will eat up the relievers IP. Obviously in the playoffs no one cares if you wear out a reliever if it can get you a W, and the pitchers didn't pitch very well,but I wonder if this something that needs to be further addressed. It would be a shame to play by the rules all year and have Mariano Rivera go 7 innings against you in the finals.
