cameron who?
An anonymous note urging people to shed their anonymity? I love it.
Truth is it shouldn't be a matter of who is in the minority and who is in the majority. Its a matter of what is right and fair and what is fatally flawed. While peer pressure certainly can be brought to bear on owners who have stopped trying or, worse yet, are attempting to lose to gain draft position, this problem will NEVER be solved until there is motivation to WIN for all owners regardless of record and standing. In real life there is always motivation to put a representative product on the field and win as much as possible: They have to sell tickets! We don't have that problem in PB (thankfully).
Whether my ideas are good or bad is for Mike and Dwight to decide. But as they read this (they still read this board, don't they?) they must agree that until all owners have motivation to win as many games as possible the standings will lack credibility. Every tainted win over an owner with 8 overused players on his active roster by a contending team is a win that has screwed up the standings for ALL the other contenders. By giving better draft picks to losing teams PB not only did not address the motivation problem but, worse yet, gave an incentive to LOSE for bad teams. I hope they can rectify the problem. I'm sure in the near future there will be many more baseball simulations out there on the internet to provide competition and if PB can't find a way to solve this problem the competition will!
