Reality factor
Well, the Yanks DID handle it well (and I HATE the Yankees)... But since PB is computer based, and the Yanks are "Human" based, you must follow the program.
The previous 160 games have NOTHING to do with #161.... if a player is "rusty", then, by design, his play becomes, in PB's words, "random".
I don't know what that means exactly, but every time I threw out a "rusty" pitcher during the regular season, he walked people.
A lot.
You DO bring up an excellent point, that the road team is at a great disadvantage not being able to control the use of players. This leaves ALL possible starters being "rusty" for game 3, where the home manager can undoubtedly throw out his next starter for 1 batter, eliminating the rust..
and any platoon-type pinch hitters are also probably coming in hurting as well....
PB claimed to be working on the possibility of head-to-head competition... I hope it's close...
