Valid point on platoon factor players
First off, thanks for the time and effort you are taking to make your point.
I think you have a valid one but how you arrived at it is a little strange.
There are 30 MLB franchises and not 26---is this a time warp?
Five games does not a SIM review make? Actually if you scan the many leagues available to you from the LEAGUES page, you will find that most of the STAR pitchers perform quite well thank you and that the five games you played were an aberration.
It is true that competitive SIM leagues will generate more offense, but a very small amount of that offense is created by lefty batters killing lefty pitchers (although your point about not allowing them to start is a valid suggestion which I will poll the populace on in our next survey).
Most of the damage is caused by "monster" players used in platoons. There are the obvious guys who didn't play much but how about regulars like Tampa Bay catcher Flaherty who was a very good hitter versus RHP in 1999 and couldn't hit LHP. He was not platooned in real life but SHOULD be combined with a RH hitting catcher who kills lefties by any self respecting SIM manager. Offense is better in SIMS for many reasons, not the least of which is the direct knowledge SIM-managers have and use.
My original reason for restricting platoon players as they currently are in the game was to give the manager more roster flexibility. Injuries in PB can occur early in the series with no way to augment the roster. But the fact remains that your suggestion might be a good one.
