Pitching Simming...
I realize that when a pitcher exceeds his BFA's during a game, his effectiveness can become less, and his chance of injury increases.
What isn't clear to me is whether or not this happens as a "step", or is it gradual ? Another way of saying it is does the game "gradually" make a pitcher more "tired" as his BFA's approach his limit ?
Along a similar vein. Since this game is "statistical", I am curious regarding the "need" to pull a pitcher. In real life, a good pitcher may "not have it" on some days, and the manager sees this in 3-4 innings after 3-4 runs. This being a SIM, does that same phenomenon exist?
I'm thinking that if your starter is NOT tired and he has good numbers for a particular situation, the fact that he may have just given up 2 taters in a row means nothing and you should not pull him. He should be no more or less likely to get the next guy out than if he had no-hit his opponents to that point.
Any thoughts, opinions, or technical facts to either support or blow this thought out of the water ?
