I think there should be some sort of consistency among league names. Sticking to hall-of-famers makes a lot of sense to me. And I like the idea of using pitchers for newer leagues. It's a subtle difference between the old and new.

I wouldn't support a league name honoring Griffey just from a personal p.o.v. I have lost a lot of respect for that particular player for the way he treated Seattle. The Mariners really got screwed around by his restrictive demands. Just another example of the inmates running the asylum.
