I agree with MB that pitchers should start getting the recognition.

I would suggest though that Sandy Koufax be given early recognition. There has probably never been a pitcher in modern baseball who so dominated his sport as Koufax did from 1963-66.

I would suggest that he replace Cy Young at this time. I also like Bob Gibson but have no problem with either Mathewson or Johnson. I would suggest Koufax and the next two taken from Gibson, Mathewson and Johnson with the one left out for the next league and then Cy Young. My problem with Young is that even though he won 511 games he did so at a time when pitchers pitcher double headers and the ball could be called anything but live.
