Commish reply
Although it may have never happened to you, I have rescued several managers from erroneously accpeting a trade when actually intending to reject it. As a matter of policy I reject those trades with no more questions asked. Even though it seems impossible, I have been taken to task for that policy on several occaisons by irate managers? This hobby elicits passion---at once a good thing and a bad thing...
Now to the current case: In the event that a manager asks out of a trade before I have processed it, I always allow this to happen with no questions asked. The trade in question would have had a hard time getting by me in any case, but that is not the point. If a manager believes he made a serious enough mistake to pull out of a signed trade, I allow it. The idea is to have fun and to maintain league balance if at all possible. There are times when there is no correct answer to a problem, so I rely on the policies I have always used over 11 plus years of running on-line leagues. I know this will occasionally be misinterpreted by those on the wrong side of the discussion, but it is a way to maintain my sanity and some consistency.
On the issue of scathing language on league pages, I am resolute. Please do not use these forums without the utmost respect for the dignity of this exercise. Recall that many managers share this hobby with their children and that we are all role models in that respect. I understand the passion and will accept and understand rowdy messages to my address, but please try to be civilized in the public forums.
