That glitch is outlined in the manual. It flat out tells you not to trust the listed starter. You must go to your opponents roster and make sure the starter is ready. If you find he isn't ready the computer will select a starter. The manual also tells you EXACALLY how the computer selects the new starter. If you take this little precaution you will never get caught like that. It would be nice if the glitch was fixed but in the meantime... you now know how to avoid it.
