I'm in a new traditional league that is starting to scare me. The trade posts are full of :

I'm offering x (a 27 year old who is coming off his career year which wasnt that good to begin with) and y (a washed up old pitcher who wont really even help next year). They are both great. I am looking for a lottery pick and a top starter with 5-6 all-star games under their belt who is no older than 25.

There are a lot of postings like this. What is the story ? This league has had a bunch of fights and nasty messages and a trade that was renegged on. I've stayed out of it for the most part but I'm wondering if all leagues are like this .
