Goodbye PB

Posted By Patrick Ferrington

This is a copy of my good-bye post I put in the leagues i'm leaving. However I wanted to take the moment to mention that aside from some scheduling and response issues I've had in the past, that I have greatly enjoyed my time playing at PB. Its not perfect, but for what it is, it is quite wonderful.

For the last 2 ½ years I have had a wonderful time playing here at Purebaseball. I like to think that I did a good job of taking some mediocre teams and turning them into wild-card contenders with a bright future. That is of course except for my dismal failure in drafting for RT ;-) I claim injuries but so does everyone else.

I have not stopped enjoying PB, but I have found that with other interests in my life it is taking too much of my time. Being competitive, I would not be happy spending less time on it, and the leagues I’m in deserve more attention from an owner then occasional visits.

Good luck with the ’00 season, and if anyone is interested, please take over one of my teams: Tillamook Terrors (A12), Turtle Beach Bums (W9), Wasque Blues (Champ), Garibaldi Gophers (PB98 Trad1). I like to think they all of bright futures with a great collection of young players, but they aren’t title contenders this season – a wilcard…maybe… if you manage better than I did, which isn’t saying much ;-). What can I say, I preferred the GM role.

I hope you all continue to enjoy PB for many seasons to come. I’ll stop back by occasionally to see how the new owner/managers manage to screw up my plans for the future… or do me one better.
