Keep the season at 160 games, just make it 40 weeks of 4 games each series. This would make the season last longer, and would make managers adjust their rotations during the year for better matchups.

The breakdown would be 6 series in your division, 2 series against everyone in your league, and 6 inter-league series. The other change I would make is to change the interleague rules. Let SR league teams have the DH at home and JR league teams have pitchers bat during these games. It would give both a chance to see how the other half plays.

Just an idea, it would then make the season approximately 44 weeks with the playoffs. This would only leave 8 weeks between seasons. Just about enough time to prepare for the drafts and the next season.
