You raise a good point. If people don't care if a team ends up doing what I have suggested is possible then thats one issue. I just wanted to point out what could happen. Some people probably won't care, others maybe will.

On the subject of realism... it is true that MLB teams have an unlimited number of players in their minor league system. However, it should be pointed out that before a player can be brought up to the major league team he has to be placed on the 40 man roster. Players with option years can be sent down from the major leagues to the minors without penalties. However, when a team wants to remove a player from the 40 man roster to make room for another player they want to put on the roster there are certain situations where the player must pass through waivers.

My point is that there is no limit to the total number of bodies they have but there is a limit to how many can play for the big league team without risking losing a player.
