Roster limit
Don't forget the whole purpose is to remove regulation of teams that go over the limit. If
most of you remember, there used to be a limit
to the number of times a player can be sent to the minors. This was abolished because of enforcement issues. By removing the limit, there is no need for roster level enforcement. I see teams over the limit all the time currently.
If a manager wants to make 6 or 7 trades where he gets two or three for one, great. You can only have 25 men on the playing roster, and you can't really make a huge improvement over what is already there. When that team has to cut to 27 after the rookie draft, he will have to make a number of cuts, and he would also have given up many of his good players already when he was stocking up on players.
I think this move is to ease the regulations of all the leagues, and any time this can be done with minimum of change, the better.
