According to the post by Mike Bravard under the title "SIM SUBJECT" dated 2/14/00 in this forum, each event is independent.

Personally, I agree with you that the game sure doesn't appear to be independent. Walks tend to be followed by walks, hit batters tend to be followed by hit batters, passed balls and wild pitches seem to occur in bunches, etc.

The game manual does say that during the season in Real Time leagues they do have a "streak" factor for batters who are on a tear. I don't pretend to understand that.
