Let's wait till mid-season and see how many guys available for drafting in round 5 would have been good picks. From the previous year's rookie draft (which I wasn't in - this will be my 1st rookie draft) - it appeared like several good players were picked in the later rounds and then cut - eg Chris Singleton.

Maybe the problem is with the lack of capability to evaluate all the rookies rather than the lack of talent.

Five rounds of rookies does seem like a lot though. My guess is there won't be too many teams keeping there round 4 and 5 picks when they have to cut to 27. If so, then the last 2 rounds are useless, right? Just include those guys in the FA draft.

Still, as I said, I'd like to wait till mid-season to evaluate the rookie draft.
