Draft Talk Agony
Ken, I hear you.
For me, cutting to 27 is torture. Maybe I get too attached to my boys, but I hate saying
goodbye to that 4th OFer that really was more than that for me last year.
I figure that every rookie you take means that you have to drop
another "Top28" roster player. So you better really want that rookie.
On the other side of the coin, you better get your rookies. I think that's obvious.
I haven't been in PB too long (2 yrs), but I've found that I can only afford to carry
one (maybe two) "uncarded" players for a year. That includes veterans
that are on rehab (Wood, Galarraga, RMartinez, etc.)
Anyway, it seems to me that the rules are structered in such a way that
if you pick a rookie, you better REALLY WANT HIM.
My plan, so far, has been to take one highly rated rookie every year, and forget (or trade)
the rest of my picks. I can't afford to drop another vet for a marginal prospect.
Then again, I have lived in the basement of my division since I got here, so what do I know...
God, I love this game!
