Conflict of Interest
I also think Mike does a good job in trade evaluations and I don't see a better method. Mike Bravard is obviously very knowledgable. I think the PB depth charts are the best and most updated depth charts on the net.
I do share some concerns about the commish involved in leagues as a participant. Ultimately, a totally neutral, uninvolved person would be best. People value players differently, particularly prospects. I know when I draft a rookie I hope he's better than a similar rookie. Sometimes it's difficult to be objective because you WANT that player to be better just because you own him. Managers tend to over-rate the potential on players they own.
Perhaps, Mike might value the players he owns more than others.
That's just a small point, anyway. Whoever is going to do the job is going to have biases. It's virtually impossible to find someone totally objective. I like the idea of a second commish. I don't think Mike would ever manipulate a league for his benefit, but a second commish would satisfy those who think he might. It would also provide Mike with an experienced "second opinion" for when he has doubts, and vice versa.
If this isn't a possibility, then I have no problem with the system as it is. For the most part, trade conflicts are an exception, not the norm.
