Robot Rules
Another explanation is that perhaps the robot is simply a better manager than many players. The robot's not bad (although it always amuses me when he/she/it pulls a double switch but puts the pitcher in to leadoff the next inning). I've noticed that the robot seems to be a little more attentive to lh/rh splits. I doubt that the robot was conceived to fully take advantage of the statistical nature of the game (most major league mgrs are not!), but even some knowledge may give him an advantage over novice managers.
