My understanding of the aggressive setting for the bullpen is that it will cause your relievers to enter the game earlier. Thus, the aggressive setting would seem to override the "ace" designation. Another possibility is that you had a 4-man rotation set.
Try setting a less aggressive bullpen. My starters tend to go 5-6 innings w/ the most aggressive setting, and 7-8 w/ a mid-aggressive setting.
