Home Team Disadvantage
Mike mentioned, on another subject, that the robot didn't have an advantage, but I've been wondering. In my home games I've noticed :
* The opposing team scored a disproportionate amount of runs in the first inning. The first is the only inning you get to order your lineup exactly and is accordingly the highest scoring inning , but ...
* The opposing team is always unbelievably clutch with 2 outs and runners on while the home team is not.
* The opposing team is always sucessful on their sac bunts, no matter how you play your IF. The home team is not very good at bunting. The visitors also bunt for a lot of hits while the home boys don't, or if they do bunt they're thrown out.
I've been wondering if there is a bias built in to offset the inherent home team advantage that CSN,APBA and PB have/had.
I've got teams that are good, bad and indifferent right now but this theme is across the board for all of them. This could account for the increase in complaints about game play this year, as people will more likely bitch when the games they play feature their team not getting the breaks.
