First Innings
Haven't paid that much to bunting, and I'm not sure I'd trust my memory as to how successful the visitors are in the first frame...that said, I find myself VERY CURIOUS about how the leadoff hitter does, more so than in any other inning (stats show that getting the leadoff batter on, not out, is extremely important to scoring in any inning).
My FEELING is that when the leadoff batter reaches, I'm looking at a lot of baserunners that inning. Maybe a lot of runs, or if I have a good pitcher, he escapes facing 7 batters and yielding a single run. Leadoff batter out, usually 1-2-3, or maybe a spare hit or walk in there.
Again, my SENSE is that this leadoff effect is exaggerated in the first inning compared to other innings.
