My SS Mark Loretta gets injured during a game. I have Denny Hocking on my bench for this eventuality, he's not injured, ready to go.

So the ROBOT brings in Bobby Bonilla to play SS.

Somehow, Bonilla plays enough to get 3 AB's, and miraculously does not commit an error (The Troy Glaus effect again?) and it fortunately had no effect on the game.

This would seem like a very simple replacement, so why would the ROBOT bring in an unrated player to play such a vital position ?
