Let's not forget that as managers WE know the ratings. Real manager's don't. We go into the season armed with platoons and specialists. A hitter playing every day faces tougher pitching in our leagues, since we allow more than 100% usage and major failures seldom play at all. A platoon hitter may actually outperform real life numbers, since we know in advance how poorly he'll fare if played against all pitching. Of course REAL TIME leagues have yet to add the equalizing features mentionned in the manual, so fast starters will outperform April slumpers by quite a lot. Lets remember we're not playing a major league replay, it's set up for a trading league.
